Longtime Malibu psychic Averi Torres takes a look back at the year that was and looks ahead at what's to come.
Natural disasters, Washington gridlock, a global economic crisis, political upheaval. Other than the dreamy diversion of a fairy tale royal wedding, 2011 may not go down as one of the most jolly years on record. But according to longtime Malibu psychic Averi Torres, improvements may be on the way in 2012.
“There was a lot of tension last year,” Torres explains. “But just like a rubber band, you have that tension build up and then you let it go. 2011 was a year of tremendous change and a lot of people had problems accepting who they are. Sometimes it can be difficult because we are all evolving.”
Torres, who has been on the local psychic scene for decades, boasts a string of successful predictions for 2011. Such successful insights include that the military would drop its “don't ask, don't tell” policy, several earthquakes, including a major earthquake and tsunami would hit Japan and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak would resign. She even tapped the Dallas Mavericks as NBA champs, as well as the Green Back Packers would win the XLV Superbowl.
Torres also has some surprising predictions for the year to come. She believes 2012 will be the year that both gay marriage and marijuana will be legalized in the United States. Not only that, but after a few hiccups, there may be glimmers of hope on the economic horizon.
“I see a volatile stock market with stocks emerging stronger after steep corrections, mainly rebounding in the second half.”
"Robotic aerial drones will become the most used weapon for global air forces and local law enforcement."
"Automation and robots will take over an increasing number of service sector jobs."
"Increase of all things electronic will allow more technology to create computers worn on wrists, the size of watches."
"Wireless technology will be available for all things needing to be plugged in with power cords."
"Market for spy technology to bloom to over $5 billion."
"There will be fewer marriages over the next 2 years but Malibu will still be the destination of choice."
"I do not see a recession in 2012 and do see continued growth in earnings for many banks and corporations."

In baby news, Torres predicts a bundle of joy for English royals Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
One thing she doesn't see is the end of the world.
According to the Mayan calendar, the countdown to the apocalypse is on.
Some believe the end is coming Dec. 21, 2012. That's the date that the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar allegedly marked as the end of an era that would reset the date to zero and signal the end of humanity. There are some doomsday-sayers who are making a fortune over this phony fearful event,” Torres says. “I hope you are not one who will support that erroneous belief.”
"The Sun and entire solar system will be in direct alignment with the Galactic Equator. The earth will receive an enormous amount of spiritual energy affecting the vibratory patterns of the human being. This alignment has already brought in new knowledge and is helping humanity to become aware of newer possibilities of life and creation. The first impact will be the increase in the vibrational frequency of our earth, positive churning at all levels, said Torres. "This will help every human being on earth to deal with their own negativity and release it in order to move into the New Light age. But when it comes right down to it, Torres says "the future is in our hands. This is not the end of the world but the end of the world as we know it."
“If our spiritual growth is negative, we could go into a downward spiral. We have the power to turn things around for a better world, but need to create the future we want.
